Ho Technical University donates masks to support COVID-19 fight

The Ho Technical University has donated one thousand (1,000) pieces of nose masks to the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council (VRCC) as its support to the fight against COVID-19 on Wednesday, 29th April, 2020.

 

Presenting the items, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ben Q. Honyenuga said the donation was a response to the President’s call for local industries to support the production of all that is needed to fight the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.

 

“We are concerned following the directive of His Excellency the President [Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo] that we should ignite local production to be able to support the fight against the COVID”.

According to the VC, Ho Technical University is also one of the technical universities selected by government to produce masks for Ghanaian health workers.

 

“We are not only donating this [masks] to VRCC. We are also participating in the national call to produce masks for health workers”.

 

The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa who received the items thanked the University for the support.
